Pfft.. Running

I was never one to enjoy running. It always seemed inefficient to me compared to biking or roller blading and whenever I was forced to run, my Asthma would cripple me to the ground. Now it’s a little different.

I don’t like running cause there’s a bit of lack of motivation. I am a recent graduate from the Illinois Institute of Technology (aka seniorities) that graduated in Computer Science (aka procrastinator) and that, believe it or not, still has Asthma (aka motivation-killer). But let’s get to the dilemma.

To make a long story short, I’m registered for the Chicago 2008 Marathon.

So now I bet you’re saying, “What’s the big deal, just don’t go.” As much as I agree with that being a solution, doing that would be against everything I believe in. Here’s what I though of instead.

This blog will be my motivator (among other things such as family & friends). I will log anything, good or bad, about my running experiences until October 12th. I will track running distances, heart rate readings, my opinions of each run, people I bump into, babies I step on and what kind if weather I run in. If you have past experiences you’d like to share, let me know. This is a first for me so I’m not expecting to do things right.

That said, according to the official Chicago Marathon 2008 website, I’ve got 135 days, 19 hours, 32 minutes and 31 seconds until race day.
